Ordering

Can I cancel my order?

We completely get it, we change our minds too! While we wish could, once an order is placed, we are unable to alter or cancel it at this time. We hope to have a cancellation window one day in the future.

Do you offer coupons or discount codes?

We do offer periodic sales and discounts. Sign up for our email list to find out when the next sale is coming.

What is the return and refund policy?

We have a strict no-returns and no-refunds policy on all perishable and food-related items including meat and eggs.

Can I pick up my order?

We do not currently offer local pick ups at our ranch. Stay tuned as we have some exciting things in the works and will have some local shopping options coming very soon!

What if I want to speak to someone?

We want to speak to you too! Contact us with any questions, concerns, or feedback. We will be sure to get back to you within 48 hours. However, please note that inquiries sent on Fridays will receive a reply the following Monday, but possibly sooner.

Shipping

What countries do you ship to?

We currently ship within the United States only.

How long will it take to receive my order?

Standard shipping normally takes 2-3 days. Next day shipping is available on all domestic orders (for an additional charge). We will only allow a package to be in transit for up to 3 consecutive business days as it is a frozen, perishable product. Shipping rates depend on the products and delivery destination (estimated at checkout).

How does the meat stay frozen in transit?

Perishable products are packed in an insulated cooler with dry ice. Our items are shipped frozen, ensuring they arrive at a safe temperature. Once the boxes are shipped they will arrive in 24-48 hours.

What happens if my product is damaged or defective upon arrival?

FOR MEAT:

It is possible that a portion of your order may not arrive frozen, especially when the weather is very warm. We suggest transferring the contents of your order to a refrigerator or freezer immediately upon receipt.

We go to great measures to ensure our product stays frozen. If any portion of your order is warm to the touch, we suggest discarding that portion and emailing us at info@superiorostrich.com for assistance.

FOR EGGS:

If your product is cracked or damaged DO NOT CONSUME! Please send pictures to info@superiorostrich.com to have it replaced.

Ostrich Meat

What does ostrich meat taste like?

Ostrich meat has a mild flavor often compared to lean beef. It's not as strong as bison, elk, venison or other wild game, making it approachable for those new to exotic meats. It takes on marinades and seasonings well, allowing for a variety of cooking preparations.

Is ostrich meat healthy?

Yes! Ostrich is a nutritional powerhouse. It's a lean red meat protein with low fat and cholesterol content and packed with essential vitamins and minerals like iron, zinc, and B vitamins. It's a heart-healthy and diet-friendly option.

Why is your meat better?

Our ostrich flock was built on a foundation of good genetics which promotes healthier, happier birds. Our ostriches run free range on our central Texas ranch where we are actively implementing regenerative farming practices providing better access to native grasses and grain plants. Our meat is processed in a USDA certified and inspected facility where rigorous quality checks are in place to ensure consistency.

Is your meat antibiotic, steroid, and hormone free?

Our animals are never given antibiotics, steroids, or hormones. We utilize natural vitamins and supplements to address health concerns. Hormones are not approved for use in poultry processing.

Is your meat organic?

We are not certified organic.

Is your meat grass fed?

Our ostrich always have access to grass pastures and forage. Their diet is supplemented with grains to help provide enough protein for them to grow and give the meat flavor.

Do you harvest humanely?

Our ostriches are harvested humanely at a Texas USDA certified processing facility. Our butcher partners are wonderful people and exteremely professional!
