The Firecracker Burger

 Ingredients

Main Ingredients:

  • 4 Superior Ostrich pre-formed burger patties

  • Salt & pepper

  • 4 slices sharp cheddar cheese

  • 4 crispy onion rings (store-bought or homemade)

  • ½ cup BBQ sauce

  • 4 brioche burger buns

  • Optional: garlic aioli or mayo for top bun

For the Smoky Bacon Cheddar Spread:

  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese

  • 2 oz cream cheese, softened

  • 2 tbsp mayonnaise (or sour cream)

  • ¼ tsp smoked paprika

  • ½ tsp garlic powder

  • ⅓ cup crispy bacon bits

  • Pinch of cayenne pepper (optional)


Instructions

  • Make the Cheese Spread:
    In a bowl, mix cream cheese, mayo, paprika, garlic powder, and cayenne (optional) until smooth. Fold in shredded cheddar and bacon bits. Chill for 10–15 minutes to thicken slightly.

  • Grill the Patties:
    Season pre-formed ostrich patties with a little salt and pepper. Grill or pan-sear for 3–4 minutes per side. Add cheddar slices in the last minute to melt.

  • Cook the Onion Rings:
    Bake, air fry, or fry the onion rings until golden and crispy.

  • Toast the Buns:
    Lightly toast brioche buns on a grill or skillet until golden.

  • Assemble the Firecracker Burger:

    • Bottom bun

    • Ostrich patty with melted cheddar

    • Generous layer of smoky bacon cheddar spread

    • Drizzle of BBQ sauce

    • Crispy onion ring

    • Optional aioli or mayo on top bun

    • Top bun
