Ingredients
1 lb Superior Ostrich steak, thinly sliced against the grain
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 tablespoon honey
1 tablespoon rice vinegar
1 teaspoon sesame oil
1 tablespoon fresh grated ginger
1 garlic clove, minced
1 tablespoon vegetable or avocado oil
1 red bell pepper, sliced
1 cup broccoli florets
1 cup snap peas
Cooked jasmine rice or noodles, for serving
Optional garnish: sliced green onions, toasted sesame seeds, fresh cilantro
Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the sauce
In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, sesame oil, grated ginger, and minced garlic. Set aside.
Step 2: Cook the ostrich
Heat vegetable oil in a large wok or skillet over medium-high heat. Add the sliced Superior Ostrich steak in a single layer and cook for 1 to 2 minutes without stirring to get a good sear. Then stir-fry for another minute until the meat is just cooked through. Remove from the pan and set aside.
Step 3: Stir-fry the vegetables
In the same pan, add the bell pepper, broccoli, and snap peas. Stir-fry for about 3 to 4 minutes until vegetables are crisp-tender but still vibrant.
Step 4: Combine and glaze
Return the cooked ostrich to the pan with the vegetables. Pour the prepared sauce over everything and toss quickly to coat. Cook for another 1 to 2 minutes, letting the sauce thicken slightly and coat the ingredients evenly.
Step 5: Serve
Serve hot over jasmine rice or noodles. Garnish with sliced green onions, toasted sesame seeds, or fresh cilantro if you like.
Tips from Superior Ostrich
Slice the ostrich steak thinly and against the grain for the most tender bites.
Don’t overcook the meat; ostrich is lean and cooks fast, so a quick sear is perfect.
Feel free to swap vegetables based on what you have on hand. Mushrooms, carrots, or baby corn all work great.
For extra heat, add a pinch of red pepper flakes or a drizzle of sriracha when glazing.
