Classic Ostrich Burger

Classic Ostrich Burger

Servings: 4 burgers
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 8–10 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb ground ostrich meat

  • 1 egg (optional, helps bind but not always necessary)

  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce

  • 1 tsp garlic powder

  • 1 tsp onion powder

  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • 4 burger buns (toasted)

  • Your favorite burger toppings (lettuce, tomato, pickles, red onion, cheese, etc.)

  • Condiments: ketchup, mustard, mayo, or aioli

Instructions:

  1. Prep the patties:
In a bowl, gently mix ground ostrich, egg (if using), Worcestershire, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Don’t overwork the meat—just enough to combine.

  2. Form patties:
Divide mixture into 4 equal parts and shape into patties slightly larger than your buns (they’ll shrink a bit when cooking).

  3. Cook the burgers:
Heat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook patties for about 4–5 minutes per side, or until they reach an internal temp of 160°F. Ostrich is lean—avoid overcooking to keep it juicy!

  4. Assemble:
Toast buns lightly, then layer your burger with all your favorite fixings.

  5. Serve & enjoy:
Pair with sweet potato fries or a crisp salad for the perfect meal.
