Servings: 4 burgers
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 8–10 minutes
Ingredients:
-
1 lb ground ostrich meat
-
1 egg (optional, helps bind but not always necessary)
-
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
-
1 tsp garlic powder
-
1 tsp onion powder
-
Salt and pepper to taste
-
4 burger buns (toasted)
-
Your favorite burger toppings (lettuce, tomato, pickles, red onion, cheese, etc.)
-
Condiments: ketchup, mustard, mayo, or aioli
Instructions:
-
Prep the patties:
In a bowl, gently mix ground ostrich, egg (if using), Worcestershire, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Don’t overwork the meat—just enough to combine. -
Form patties:
Divide mixture into 4 equal parts and shape into patties slightly larger than your buns (they’ll shrink a bit when cooking). -
Cook the burgers:
Heat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook patties for about 4–5 minutes per side, or until they reach an internal temp of 160°F. Ostrich is lean—avoid overcooking to keep it juicy! -
Assemble:
Toast buns lightly, then layer your burger with all your favorite fixings. -
Serve & enjoy:
Pair with sweet potato fries or a crisp salad for the perfect meal.
